Related to the community

  1. How can I play?
    The steps in detail:
    1. Click on "Game info".
    2. Click on "Sign-up".
    3. Choose the type of membership and click on "continue":
      1. The free of charge version is best to get to know the game, though is limited in functionality.
      2. The Plus Player version only costs 12,80 EUR per season and offers you many addional features. As Plus Player you may in one community with users playing free of charge.
      3. The Pro Player version only costs 15,50 EUR per season and offers you even more features above the Plus Player. It is aimed at experienced users, who would like to play in their own Pro Player communities.
    4. Here are four choices:
      1. You've already received an invitation with community name and password. This means you would like to join a private community. Please enter the community name and password on the next screen and click on "Continue".
      2. You've already received only the community name. This means you'll join an open community. Search for the community name in the list and select the box to the left of it. Then click on "Continue".
      3. You would like to create a new community for anybody: Choose "Create open community" and enter its name. Then click on "Continue".
      4. You would like to create your own private community for yourself and your friends: Choose "Create private community" and enter name and password. Then click on "Continue".
    5. Now you only need to create your account: Please enter at least user name, password and your first name an click on "Continue" - start playing!
  2. How can I convert my current account into a Plus Player account?
Please log in first. You may make your account via this link a ComunioGP.com Plus Player. (You can also find this link under "Administration" -> "Change user data". Your bids, points etc. are not changed by becoming Plus Player. You can become Plus Player independent of your other community members. Here the Plus Player features are described.
New users automatically get the Plus Player features in the first 14 days free of charge!
  3. How can an existing community be converted to a Pro Player community, so that every member is keeping his racing team?
The community manager may convert his community via this link. (The link can also be found under "Administration" -> "Community administration". All racing teams, bids, points etc. remain untouched. All Pro Player features are described here.
  4. May I become Pro Player in my community by myself or must all members become Pro Player?
Because of their extra features Pro Player are likely to receive more points than non-Pro Player. Due to fairness it's not possible to become Pro Player by yourself in a non-Pro Player community.
  5. How can I invite people into my community?
Anyone that receives the community name and password (for private communities) can join. For simplicity we provide a form to invite new members after signing up. All you need to enter is name and e-mail of the person to invite. Of course you may modify the invitation text as you wish. With a click on "Continue" all invitations are send by e-mail.
Any community member can also invite new members under "Administration" -> "Invite new members".
Another possiblity is our "Member exchange forum", where you can advertise your community with a short description.
  6. How can I convert an open community into a private one?
The community manager must set a community password under "Administration"->"Community management".
  7. How can I convert a private community into an open one?
The community manager must delete the community password under "Administration"->"Community management".
  8. How many members should/may a community have?
Theoretically more than 10 are possbile. Nevertheless between five and ten is a good target value, because in every match only 12 racing teams are rated, i.e. the more members the community has, the less objects that receive points a member has. Too few members is also bad, as the competition is low and transfer negotiation is mainly done with the computer which is not as exciting as with other members. In the course of the game you might also swap objects which is not possible with the computer.
  9. Where do I see who else is in the community and what racing teams they have?
Under "Standings" you'll see who's in your community and the user's points. You can inspect their racing teams by clicking on their names. If a new member joins your community it is also announced in the community news. ("XYZ has joined").
  10. What are the numbers in parentheses next to the logged in players?
The number in parenthesis is the number of minutes since the last action.
  11. Can I play alone?
Yes, you may play on your own: In such a case we suggest to join an open community (without password).
All by yourself in your own community is of course also possible, but you won't get to know many aspects of the game. We therefore disadvice this method.
  12. How do I know that none of my friends has already founded a community?
Quite simple: If you haven't received a community name and password by someone else, you're the first one and can start a new community for you and your friends.
  13. Can I play in more than one community?
Yes, but not with the same user name. You must resignup for every community. If you're already logged in and would like to do something in another community, you must re-login with the new user name.
  14. Can I signup more than once for one community?
Yes, even this is possible with multiple user name. As you could have unfair advantages with this other members of your community will certainly not tolerate this. The community manager may impose a penalty, expel you from the community or the members can simply create a new community without you!
  15. What authorizations / possiblities does the community manager have?
The community manager has the following rights and possiblities:
    • Changing of the community settings:
      • Community name
      • Community password for private communities
      • Number of days after which bids expire and the computer would accept/decline them (1-9)
      • Number of days after which bids from community members expire (1-9, only for Pro Player communities)
      • Number of drivers/engines/teams/team principals the computer offers on the transfer market (0-13 or 0-25 in Pro Player communities)
      • Number of days after which a community member may put a newly bought driver/engine/team/team principal on the transfer market (0-365)
      • Starting conditions for new members (20 M starting budget + randomly assigned racing team or 40 M starting budget and no racing team)
      • Setting for the next season
      • Activation/Deactivation of salaries (only in Pro Player communities)
      • Community description
      • Setting of the payment method in Pro Player communities
    • Deleting members
    • View the (encrypted) IP of community members and the time of the last action
    • Send warn e-mails to community members
    • Setting/Removal of community management rights
    • Setting/Removal of the champion and red lantern and other icons
    • Impose penalties or bonuses
    • Tranfer nullification
  16. Can I move with my account into another league?
That's not possible. It can be that the players in the new community are already assigned. You have to register again in the new community.
  17. What is "News-Connect"?
News-Connect allows Pro Player leagues to share the news board with other Pro Player leagues. All new and existing public news board messages are shared between accepted leagues. The leader is able to invite other leagues to share the news board. He may also accept, reject or delete invitations under "Administration"->"News-Connect".

All Pro Player features are described here.

Related to drivers/engines/teams/team principals

  1. What happens to players that leave the Formula 1, e.g. relegate or transfer into another league?
When it's certain that a driver/engine/team/team principal will leave the Formula 1, e.g. a driver retires, the market value is frozen, i.e. the market value doesn't change any more and the driver/engine/team/team principal will not be placed on the transfer market by the computer any longer. Exception: If a racing team's exit is already certain before the end of the season, its objects will only be deactivated after the end of the season. You can always sell a driver/engine/team/team principal to the computer for the (frozen) market value. To do so please place the driver/engine/team/team principal on the transfer market and wait for an offer by the computer on the next day.
  2. What do the icons of the driver status display for Pro and Plus Player mean?
    The driver is fit
The driver is doubtful, may become fit till the next Grand Prix though
    The driver is injured
    The driver/team/team principal is banned
The driver is at home and won't participate for the next Grand Prix
The driver is suspended or disregarded for some other reason
The driver/engine/team/team principal is not participating in the Formula 1 any more
    The driver is deceased
    The driver is in rehabilitation

Related to lineup and points calculation

  1. How are the Points calculated?
Every Grand Prix you receive points for the lined up drivers, engine, team and team principal of your racing team based on the real performance in the Formula 1. The basis of valuation is listed in the rules.
  2. Why haven't I received points for the last Grand Prix?
Has your balance been negative after the last transfers before the start of the Qualifying? If the balance is negative, no points are awarded according to the rules.
Please don't forget to confirm your lineup with the button "Play with this lineup" before the start of the Grand Prix! Maybe points have been awarded but positve and negative points cancel each other out.
  3. After the last transfers before the start of the Qualifying my account balance was positive, but is now negative. Will I receive points for the Grand Prix?
If your account balance is not negative directly after the last transfer event before the start of the Qualifying (approx. at 7 a.m.), you'll receive points. In this case you'll also receive points even though your balance becomes negative during the Qualifying day, e.g. saturday night or sunday morning.
  4. After the last transfers my balance is negative an a Qualifying is starting. Would I get points if the community manager reverts a transfer?
If your balance has been negative directly after the last transfer event before the start of the Qualifying, you will not receive any points even if your community manager would nullify a transfer retroactively!
  5. Why do I come up with more points in my calculation, than the computer has awarded me?
Have you had one position left open? For every open position you receive -12 points according to the rules.
  6. When will I finally receive points?
The points are calculated after the end of the Grand Prix. Normally this happens the same day or the day after at night. You can look it up in the Calendar. Occassionally no login is possible during the calculation. On holidays the points calculation is usually moved to the next working day.
  7. What is the substitute driver/engine/team/team principal for?
As Pro Player you may specify one substitute per position. The substitute comes into play, if one of your starting objects does not receive points, which means, it is not starting.
  8. We were playing with salaries, but did not receive the increased points bonus?
The points bonus is awarded during the calculation of points. Only if salaries are activated at the time of the calculation of points the increased bonus is awarded.

Related to standings

  1. Where can I see my fellow players points?
Under "Standings" you'll find the current ranking of your community.
  2. What do the symbols next to the user under "Standings" mean?
At the end of the season the community manager may set the champion icon for the winner and the red lantern for the one finishing last. Some communities have arranged an internal cup for which Pro Player communities may additionally assign a cup icon. This internal cup is not organized by the computer, but arranged by the users themselves. For example at a Grand Prix members compete against each other and whoever receives more points on that Grand Prix advances to the next round. This can be continued to the final.
  3. How's winning, if two or more users have the same points at the end of the season?
If there's a tie the racing team value at the change from the old to the new season decides. If you would like to use a different criteria internal to your community, the community manager may award the champion and red lantern icons under "Administration"->"Manage community members" manually.

Related to the transfer system and budget

  1. How are the market values determined?
When a player is bought from the computer, a small percentage of the difference between bid and market value is added to the player's market value (for every bid that's above the target price). E.g. if a player (old value 20 M) is bought from the computer for 25 M and the bids were 25, 24 und 22 M, then the player's value thereafter would be 20 + 0.5 + 0.4 + 0.2 = 21.1 M (e.g. with an increase rate of 10%).
If the computer places a player on the exchange market and nobody purchases the player, the player's market value will decline for a small percentage. E.g. if a player is on the exchange market for 20 M and nobody purchases the player, the player's value will fall by 1 M and thus be 19 M thereafter (e.g. with a decrease rate of 5%).
Additionally the market value of a player may increase or decrease at most per day by 15% or 250.000, whichever is bigger. The percentage the player's value will decrease is the higher the more often the player is already in squads and thus less likely be on the exchange market. In detail the algorithm is a bit more complex (e.g. it's impossible that a market value will drop to 0, the current minimum is 160.000). These subtleties have almost no impact on the calculation. Also transfers between community members have no impact on the market value!
  2. Could you please place xyz on the exchange market?
The computer places drivers/engines/teams/team principals on the exchange market randomly. This behavior cannot be changed for one user or community and should ensure a long-term game spree.
  3. Why do some drivers appear often on the transfer market, others never?
The computer places drivers/engines/teams/team principals randomly on the transfer market. Therefore some objects may be placed more often than others.
  4. Can I see my fellow player's bids?
No, bids are hidden. I.e. other members of your community don't see your offer and you cannot see theirs. This has the advantage that your chances of acceptance of a bid are independent of when the bid was entered. If you and another member bid the same price it is decided by random who receives the driver/engine/team/team principal.
  5. Why haven't I gotten a new driver although my offers have been accepted and my money deducted?
Transfers are only processed at transfer times! The transfer events are listed in the ComunioGP.com calendar. In general transfers take place once per day. Is your offer's status "accepted", you'll get the driver/engine/team/team principal at the next transfer event. After the transfer, the status of the offer is "processed"
  6. I've mistyped my bid, e.g. one extra digit. Could you please revert the transfer?
In such cases the community manager may nullify transfers under "Administration"-> "Undo transfer". The nullification is not retroactive on the points calculation, i.e. if your balance was negative on the Qualifying day and you've received no points therefore the nullification won't help you to get points.
  7. I've placed a bid for a driver/engine/team/team principal, when do I get him/it?
For bids for driver/engine/team/team principal of the computer, the point in time when offers are accepted depends on when the driver/engine/team/team principal was placed on the exchange market and after how many days offers expire in your community. If they expire after one day, the Computer accepts and rejects offers and transfers the driver/engine/team/team principal after one day. If they expire after two days the computer acts two days after the driver/engine/team/team principal was placed on the exchange market and so on.
You must be the highest bidder above the target price to get the driver/engine/team/team principal!
  8. I've placed a driver/engine/team/team principal on the exchange market, how's bidding for it when?
Immediately after you have placed a driver/engine/team/team principal on the exchange market all other members of your community can bid for this object. You can either accept or decline those offers. The computer will place a bid on the next day, which you can also accept or decline. If in your community bids expire after one day you need to decide quickly. If they expire after two or more days, the offer remains open longer accordingly.
Hint: The Computer always bids about the market value (+/-5%) of the driver/engine/team/team principal. If the Computer should bid less than market value, you can - in case it's not urgent - place the driver/engine/team/team principal once again on the exchange market and wait for a possibly better offer on the next day! To receive an offer by the computer on the same day the player must be placed on the transfer list before 4:30 a.m. and must not be removed until the computer has placed his bid.
  9. Why are drivers/engines/teams/team principals of a deleted member not placed on the transfer market?
If a community member is deleted, his/her drivers/engines/teams/team principals are locked for 20 days. After this period the drivers/engines/teams/team principals return to the computer. Only thereafter they may come up on the exchange market again. In Pro Player communities, for the same reason, the last owner is still shown in the object search during the locked period.
  10. When do drivers from promoted racing teams or new entrants show up on the transfer market?
Players of promoted team and new national entrants are usually entered until the change for the new season occurs. These player may appear on the exchange market thereafter. New entrants from foreign countries are usually added when the transfer has been confirmed by the new club.
  11. Until when do I have to accept an offer so that the player gets transfered on the same day?
Please accept the offer before 3 a.m.
  12. Until when do I have to put a player on the transfer list so that I will get an offer by the computer on the same day?
Please put the player on the transfer list before 3 a.m.
  13. Why do i have to accept an offer to me or have to put a player on the transfer list before 3 a.m.?
At 3 a.m. the Transfer-Phase starts on the server, the transfers getting performed. Until the transfers are done its unfortunately not possible to make changes.
  14. What are barter deals?
If activated in the community settings, squad members can be offered in exchange (in addition to money) for transfers between league members.

Miscellaneous

  1. How can I renew my account (ahead of time)?
40 and 10 days before expiration the computer sends notices including payment conditions. Yet you may renew your account anytime by transfering the membership fee with your ID GP to this account.
  2. I've forgotten the user name in the reason for payment. Is that a problem?
Normally this is no problem, the ID is sufficient to map a payment. Please send an e-mail to info@ComunioGP.com, if you're account gets blocked against one's expectations.
  3. I'm Pro or Plus Player, what are the account details again for the transfer of the membership fee?
    Account holder Comunio GmbH

    IBAN: DE19700202700662464597
BIC / SWIFT Code: HYVEDEMMXXX (Unicredit Bank-HypoVereinsbank)

For payments from all other countries please use the following link and tranfer to info@comuniogp.com.

    PayPal-Standard-Logo

In the bank transfer details please state your login and ID, e.g.

  4. I'm Pro or Plus Player, what do I need to quote/regard with the transfer?
    Please note the following:
    • Without ID and login we cannot map the payment to your account and thus not activate it. Therefore please alsoways state your ID and your login!
    • Please state the ID without points, commas or spaces!
    • Please bear in mind that a bank transfer usually takes about 2-3 bank working days. Bank transfers from foreign countries even longer, usually about 5 days. As soon as the money arrived in our account, your account will automatically be activated. If you would like to know the status of your activation simply take a look at your member profil.
    • If you transfer the money for more than one Plus Player or Pro Player, please state the IDs of all accounts to ease the correlation. An exception of this is the collective bank transfer for the whole community. In this case the ID and login of the person making the bank transfer is sufficient!
    • Please use for EU bank transfers the IBAN/BIC Code to keep the bank transfer costs at a minimum.
  5. I'm Pro or Plus Player and have already transfered the membership fee. When will all features be activated?
Please check on your account statement after 7 working days, if the bank has credited the membership fees because of an transfer error again. If that's not the case please send an e-mail with the name of the account owner, date of debit entry according to the statement, your ID and user name.
  6. Why are there different payment options?
To create a new Pro Player community, you must choose one payment option. Please note that the community manager does not have the same possiblities with the option "Everyone pays by himself" as with the other payment options, especially deletion of other members is not allowed.
With the option "Community manager pays for the whole community up to ten members" the community may not become larger than ten members. If you want more players, please change the payment option and transfer the Pro Player fee for each additional member.
  7. How can I terminate my Pro or Plus Player membership?
Please send a notice of termination in due time with your user name and your ComunioGP.com ID (if you are logged in, you will find the id under the logout button beside the username) to info@ComunioGP.com. In the last weeks of your Plus Player membership you may also cancel the membership under "Administraton".
  8. How are the racing team salaries calculated?
For being even closer to reality Pro Player communities can optionally play with salaries. If you play with salaries, then every day for every driver/engine/team/team principal 500 € plus 0,1% of his market value is deducted from your budget. On game days you receive per point 9.000 instead of 3.000.
  9. What are "Cookies"?
"Cookies" are tidy bits of information the server stores on the surfer's machine to authenticate the user during the visit. Without this authentication by "cookies" we would not be able to serve personalized pages. We use banner ads from 3rd parties when you visit this site. These companies may collect information (excluding your name, address, e-mail address or phone number) about your visit on this or other websites to display advertising for products and services that may be of interest to you. Additional information regarding this procedure and the possiblity not to free your data for these companies can be found here.
  10. How much time do I need for the game?
How much you like! In theory you only need to line up your drivers/engines/teams/team principals once and most likely you'll sometimes receive points. Yet who's playing more often, will probably perform better. Per default it is thought that you can stay informed if you check the news and exchange market every 2-3 days. This can be changed on the community level though. In general who plays more often and is better informed about the Formula 1 most likely performs better.
  11. Which HTML tags are allowed in user and community descriptions?
The following tags are currently allowed in the descriptions:

    <span> <div> <h1> <b> <i> <a> <font> <ul> <li> <pre> <hr> <blockquote> <img> <table> <td> <tr> <th> <center> <br> <h2> <h3> <p> <u> <marquee> <em> <strong> <link> <colgroup> <col> <s>

The following attributes are disallowed due to security reasons:

Related to the season end/season start

  1. How do we continue next season? What's the "change of seasons"??

Every community manager can select one out of 9 choices how to continue into the next season under "Administration"->"Manage Community".

At the transition into the new season only communities which have been founded before the start of the last Grand Prix of the season are respected. The transition into the new season is announced in the ComunioGP calendar and in the community news in due time and takes about five hours. During this time transfers are performed and the transition chosen by the community manager.

    Season transitions:

What will happen to my team? What will happen to my account balance?

    Basic Player:

    Keep team + 5 M

Every member is keeping his team. No players will be assigned.
Every member is keeping his budget and receives extra 5 M for new acquisitions.

    New team, 20 M

The team will be deleted. Every member gets a new team of 15 players assigned.
The account balance will be deleted. Every member gets 20 M starting budget.

    No team, 40 M

The team will be deleted. No players will be assigned.
The account balance will be deleted. Every member gets 40 M starting budget.

    Keep 2, 9 M, 10 with fixed positions assigned

Every member must keep 2 of his players he had selected under "Line up". If he doesn't select them under "Line up", he automatically keeps the 2 with the most points. If he selects less than 2 players, he automatically keeps the next up to 2 with the most points.
Additionally he gets 10 players assigned: 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 strikers. The positions of the kept players will be ignored.
If account balance is < 0, the account balance will be raised by 9 M. If account balance is > 0, the member starts with 9 M.

    Keep 2, 9 M, 10 assigned with variable positions

Every member must keep 2 of his players he had selected under "Line up". If he doesn't select them under "Line up", he automatically keeps the 2 with the most points. If he selects less than 2 players, he automatically keeps the next up to 2 with the most points.
Additionally he gets 10 players assigned: The computer is trying to assign players so that you will have a team of 2 goalkeepers, 4 defenders, 6 midfielders and 3 strikers.
If account balance is < 0, the account balance will be raised by 9 M. If account balance is > 0, the member starts with 9 M.

Pro Player Communities can additionally use the following season transitions:

    45 M + team + budget adjustment

The team will be deleted. Every member gets a new team of 15 players assigned.
The account balance will be deleted. Every member gets 45 M minus the value of the assigned players.

    Keep 2, none assigned, 20 M

Every member must keep 2 of his players he had selected under "Line up". If he doesn't select them under "Line up", he automatically keeps the 2 with the most points. If he selects less than 2 players, he automatically keeps the next up to 2 with the most points. No players will be assigned.
If account balance is < 0, the account balance will be raised by 20 M. If account balance is > 0, the member starts with 20 M.

Keep player up to 30 M

Every member keeps as many players as desired and selected under "Line up". No players will be assigned.
The new account balance equals 0,3 of the wealth (= team value + account balance up to 10 M).
Additionally: If the team value is above 30 M then 1,5 times the difference between team value and 30 M is deducted.
Is team value less than 30 M then the difference between team value and 30 M is added.

    Reallocate wealth

Every member keeps his team. No players will be assigned.
Half of every member's wealth (= Account balance + Team Value) is pooled and then redistributed evenly amongst all community members. Half of wealth (old) + share of pool = wealth (new). Wealth (new) - Team Value = Account balance (new).
